In short
Spell Quest collects no personal information. It has no ads, no tracking, no analytics, no accounts and no chat. Everything your child does in the app stays on your device. The app only goes online through Apple, when a grown-up makes or restores a purchase.
Information we collect
None. Spell Quest does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information from children or adults. We never ask for names, email addresses, photos, location, contacts, voice recordings or any other personal details, and the app does not use the camera or microphone.
Information stored on your device
To keep your child's progress, the app saves game data on the device itself:
- levels finished, stars and coins
- heroes, their gear, and the Lodge's decorations
- which words have been practiced and mastered
- play time and words spelled, for the grown-ups' weekly summary
- settings such as sound, spoken words, the starting land and the break reminder
With the full quest, up to three players each have their own saved progress on the device. None of this is sent to us or anyone else. It is included in your device's own backups, as with any app, and deleting the app deletes it.
Purchases
Spell Quest offers one optional, one-time purchase that unlocks the full quest. Purchases and restores are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. Purchase screens and the grown-ups' settings are behind a grown-up check, so children cannot reach them on their own.
Ads, tracking and third parties
There is no advertising, no third-party analytics or crash reporting, no tracking across apps or websites, no social features, no chat and no links that lead out of the app. No third-party code in the app collects data.
Children's privacy
Spell Quest is made for children ages 5 to 8. Because the app collects no personal information, there is nothing for us to disclose, share or delete. The app is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's guidelines for apps in the Kids category.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We will never begin collecting personal information from children.
